Funds can be the fastest route to the Portugal Golden Visa

One of the investment options for a golden visa in Portugal (residency by investment) is through private equity funds or venture capital funds eligible for golden visa purposes.
In a low-interest rate environment, these funds offer interesting target profitability and are subject to 0% withholding tax for non-residents (10% for residents).
It is a purely financial investment that you can redeem at the end of the temporary residence permit, ie 5 years, and that you don’t need to keep to apply for permanent residency or citizenship.
Private equity funds are approved and regulated by the Portuguese Securities Market Commission (CMVM). To be eligible for the golden visa purposes, these funds need to comply with a specific regulation, including a minimum 60% investment in companies located in Portugal.
